Rag Doll Collective is a design-driven production house delivering short-form, visually striking satirical videos that confront gendered power dynamics head-on. This interdisciplinary thesis project merges video, web, merchandise, photo and text into a cohesive storytelling ecosystem—crafted to meet Gen Z where they are and challenge societal norms through wit, critique, and design.

Inspired by Giselle Pelicot’s haunting testimony during a 2024 rape trial in France—“I was a rag doll with plastic bags”—the collective reclaims this metaphor to spotlight the absurdities of patriarchy. Through chaotic, scroll-stopping visuals and meme-worthy content, Rag Doll Collective transforms discomfort into dialogue and cynicism into curiosity.

Grounded in a strategic brand system, the project spans a digital platform, collaborative zines, limited-edition merchandise (including posters, t-shirts, and safety keychains), and community events—each touchpoint amplifying its core message: laughter can be radical, and satire is a tool for survival.

With collaborations ranging from NGOs to grassroots creators, the collective fosters a space where humor and resistance intersect. By collapsing the boundaries between activism and entertainment, Rag Doll Collective makes conversations around gender inequality impossible to scroll past—and even harder to forget.

Blank Date

A parody of Taylor Swift’s Blank Space, this tongue-in-cheek
music video dives into the chaotic mind of a Gen Z girl
spiraling before a first date. From Reddit deep-dives
to overanalyzing texts and imaginary red flags, the
lyrics turn modern dating anxiety into a catchy, painfully
relatable anthem. Equal parts hilarious and honest,
Blank Date captures the absurd emotional rollercoaster
behind just saying "yes" to drinks.

Male Gaze Lamp

A satirical product ad for the Male Gaze Lamp—
a disturbingly bright, eye-shaped lamp that never stops staring.
With over-the-top testimonials and a peppy host, the film
mocks how women are constantly scrutinized, turning objectification
into a "feature." It's the only lamp that lights you up just right—
so you never forget you're being watched.

Nowhere, Nowhere, No-Where!?

A Gen Z girl asks a hyperactive genie one simple
question: “Is there anywhere a woman can feel safe?”
What follows is a satirical, fast-paced scan of the globe—
turning every continent stark white.
The result? Nowhere. A cheeky, biting take on the
global reality of women’s safety.

Operation Perfect

A fast-paced, satirical surgery sequence where a ragdoll is
“fixed” to meet society’s ever-evolving beauty checklist—one
absurd body mod at a time. From broom-thick brows to inflatable
lips and a waist that threatens lung function, this parody exposes
the ridiculous extremes of perfection culture. With cartoon
sound effects and snappy voiceover, Operation: Perfect holds
up a mirror to the beauty industry—then bedazzles it for likes.

Get Ready With Us

A satirical spin on the classic GRWM format, this video
walks you through the ultimate cool girl outfit—equal parts
effortless chic and emergency-ready. From baggy jeans and
ironic tees to pepper spray-as-accessory, every piece
screams "casual" while quietly prepping for survival. With cheeky
commentary and a wink to the absurd realities of being a
woman in 2025, this parody nails the look and the subtext.
